Alpha Chrome Yayo What sweeter pleasure is there than unearthing buried treasure, shining it up and sharing it out?

Well, getting to listen to it, in this instance. Courtesy of Steven 'Long John Silver' Rainey, we're treated to a veritable chest-full of previously lost riches.

And riches they are; raw, vulnerable, confident, swaggering, brooding riches.

Enjoy responsibly, or otherwise. Favorite track: Political Animal.

about

Come with me, dear reader, on a journey back in time.

Let us cast our collective unconsciousness back to the heady days of 2008, a time of skinny jeans, new rave, and The Credit Crunch.

It's also a time where your humble narrator barricaded himself in a 4th storey apartment in Belfast City Centre, with a 4-track recorder, some battered instruments, and a near endless supply of white wine.

Over the course of a week or two, the formative first musical stumblings that would become War Hole were written. These are songs from that era, forgotten until a cold night in 2021, where they were unearthed, enjoyed and revived.

What you hear is not perfect, these are the original recordings, with subtle embellishments that were not available at the time.

They retain, I feel, a certain purity that I perhaps lack now.

Enjoy.
